Express Pass lines are typically about 80%-90%shorter than the wait time of the regular line from our experience.
You'll also be able to use the Express Pass line at participating rides at Universal Studios one time as well.
Are Halloween Horror Nights Express Passes Transferable or Refundable?
Halloween Horror Nights Express Passes are not refundable except in extreme circ*mstances similar to Halloween Horror Nights admission ticket refund policy.
If you purchase a Halloween Horror Nights Express Pass you should not expect to receive a refund even if you aren't able to attend the event and the Express Pass goes unused.
Be sure to only purchase an Express Pass if you know you're definitely going to use it!
You'll have a bit more flexibility in transferring your Halloween Horror Nights Express Pass though.
A Halloween Horror Nights Express Pass must be used by the same person throughout the entire day per Universal's rules and policies. This means you can't trade or hand off the Express Pass to another person during your time at Halloween Horror Nights.
However, if you purchase an Express Pass and aren't able to attend the event, you may be able to give it to another person without any issue.
If an Express Pass is unused, then one may give it to another person, but it cannot be resold for monetary gain according to Universal's rules and policies.

The Halloween Horror Nights Express Pass available for purchase is the equivalent to the standard Universal Express Pass which allows Express Pass line access to each haunted house and rideone time.
This is different from the Universal Express Pass Unlimited which allows you Express Pass line entrance to participating rides an unlimited amount of times!
Remember, Halloween Horror Nights Express Pass and Universal Express Pass are two separate products. If you purchase a Universal Express Pass for normal park operating hours you won't be able to use it during Halloween Horror Nights or vice-versa.
Is The Halloween Horror Nights Express Pass Worth It?
Whether to purchase a Halloween Horror Nights Express Pass or not is a difficult decision because of how expensive the add-on is.
You'll essentially be doubling, if not more, the amount of money you'll be spending at Halloween Horror Nights if you decide to purchase Express Pass, but in our opinion... you get what you pay for.
Halloween Horror Nights Express is incredibly useful and helps you breeze through many of the lines for haunted houses at a fraction of the time it would take in the regular lines.
On weekends this is especially true and this is when we most strongly recommend getting an Express Pass. Nearly every weekend in extremely busy at Halloween Horror Nights with many houses having waits of over close to two hours.
On weekdays, however, you may not have the same value in an Express Pass.
While wait times will often be much less than a weekend night, they will still be long, but there are ways to see every haunted house without an Express Pass.
If you're willing to come early to Halloween Horror Nights just as it opens and stay up until closing you should be able to experience most, if not every, haunted house.
Getting on rides is another story and we find it nearly impossible to get on lots of rides and every haunted house without using a Halloween Horror Nights Express Pass.
If you don't mind waiting in some long lines and aren't interested in any rides, then you should be able to get a lot done at Halloween Horror Nights on weeknights without Express Pass. If you're hoping to get on some rides then we'd recommend Express Pass.
If you'll be making a weekend visit then we nearly always recommend getting an Express Pass unless you're only interested in half or less of the haunted mazes.
