First things first: I don't own this quad, so I'm just guessing. Isn't there a way to trim/correct yaw and the likes? I couldn't see any trim buttons on the controller, but there are other ways to counter deviations; should be in the manual. Another possibility most other quads will have: calibration. This often requires you to put the quad on a flat and level sufface and apply a certain position to the sticks and the quads gyros will reset/zero themselves. This should be mentioned in the manual for sure, as it's pretty basic (even the cheapest of quads can do this).

It's also possible your quad is 'toilet bowling' which often need a compass calibration for remedy; I assume this is in the manual too (or it should be).

This model is supposed to AUTO TRIM at setup, and if there's a way to MANUALLY trim the drone, it's not in the manual. The FAQ says the drone should auto trim at start-up...

Is "toilet bowling" an official term in the drone communitity?? Because that's a PERFECT description of what it is doing when it takes off.

If it "auto trims" at start-up, then make really sure its on a flat and level surface.

And yes 'toilet bowling' is an official term when it comes to quad-flying, and as said, is often related to a bad compass calibration (may or may not be in combination with the GPS).

Best thing to do when you experience the 'toilet bowl effect' is to land asap. Power down. Power up again (on a flat and level surface) and recalibrate the compass (I hope that is in the manual?)

I've had mine a week or so an couldn't get it to operate correctly, look up "Holystone" youtube vids, it's the same quad, they are much more informative. You can fly it in altitude hold without the gps, go through the start up procedure, and just hold the headless button a few seconds before GPS lock, for a tone and it's ready to go, it actually flies pretty good that way (mind you the RTH will not work with the GPS disabled). It takes a bit for GPS lock, but the thing actually works quite well, I tried my RTH for the first time and it was right on. I can only fly mine for a few minutes at a time, it's 10°F her in MI.

I've tried re-calibrating the compass more than a dozen times over the last two days, with no change - the drone is still toilet bowling. One of the other drone pilots at my local flying field told me to return the drone to the store, so that's what I'm going to do tomorrow.

Pete,

Look up the HolyStone controller youtube vid, you can trim the thing with the sticks, I would try that, I like the Shadow so much I went and bought the P70 also, no GPS but it flies very nice and is a little lighter. I figured 2 large drones for $300 or so to get some practice with. If that doesn't work I would get a replacement.

Please share! I received a Warrior drone for Christmas - flew it twice, then it would only charge 1/2 way and one of the motors started squealing. I took it back to Walmart today for a refund. Thought I would "upgrade" to the Shadow drone. Got it home, charged both batteries, did a step by step from the manual. Haven't been able to get the controller and drone to sync. All lights continue to flash red after doing the up and down sequence.

Any help will be appreciated.

Try to look up a youtube with an oriental gal starting it up indoors, She actually just left the drone on the ground, spun it around in place, then spun it tilted with the gear facing herself. Then she demo'd how pressing and holding the headless button until you hear the tone puts it in att mode. I could not get mine to work until I did that. Once outside, it did take a few tries to get GPS lock, once it locked it worked very well, RTH was within inches from probably 300' up and 200 yds away. I am going to get a few spare motors, they are cheap and are plug ins, I figure if I get 50 or so flights on them it's worth it. I have some brushed motor quads that are 4 years old and still working well, I let them cool in between runs. Hope you get it working, they are nice for cheap quads.

Thanks for the additional help Rich. I found that video

and followed her instructions. Unfortunately, my lights never turned solid - continued to flash red. By deciphering the very vague instructions provided by Promark (printed AND video), am I correct in guessing that the flashing red lights mean that the drone is waiting to sync with the controller?

BTW, I tried using the online contact support form last week with my Warrior drone - never got a response. Today I actually called - never talked with anyone. Left a message and haven't received a callback. Doubting I will. I have heard that Promark tech support is non existent.

I am dissapointed the app seems to be required and controller only flight is not supported

I cannot get the take off button to work on the controller

gotta use my good friends andrioid phone right now to get airborne.. disgraceful

it would be dumb as hell if you had to scan a code to get a product to fly

so much for the alaskan market

Pretty sure the app is not required to fly.
It might be stuck in beginner mode without it though. I think you just need to save the non beginner fence settings once.
There is an SD card slot in the back of the camera ball to collect pictures and videos without the app.
