Nope same message. I hadn't seen anyone else mentioning this specific... not sure what more to try. I've tried all your other links (in other posts) and disabling and enabling and forgive me not very technosavy.
Windows XP
Service Pack 3
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU 6300@1.86GHz
enough space, uninstalled other versions, had AVG protection and now that is uninstalled.
Is it not having the Intel pentium II? Is version 9.0 no longer avail?

I have seen similar problems (in this forum) earlier this year, but not recently.
Is it possible that you have some problems with your DNS? Try the following
- open a Command Prompt (Start | Run | type
cmd
[Enter]): - type
ipconfig /flushdns
- type
ipconfig /registerdns
Now try the download again. If you still cannot get it to download, I will try to find an alternate download site (on a 3rd-party server).

FP 9 is still available, but from the same download site that your browser cannot find.

OK. ran the ipconfigs, no luck, tried to follow the instructions for a manual install no luck. If 3rd party site works I'll try it.
Thanks for all options.

This may not be related but when I search Active X on my hard drive, there is a folder for active x related to my acrobat app. Does the acrobat app need to be uninstalled too? Grasping at straws.

Don't worry about Acrobat - it's completely unrelated
I wonder why you cannot access the download sites at macromedia.com and adobe.com ? Do you have anything in your hosts file (usually in C:\Windows\system2\drivers\etc) that prevents it? Or a frewall or antivirus software?
I have been looking at 3rd-party download sites; there are many, but all eventually redirect back to the macromedia.com or adobe.com original download sites.
The last thing I can offer you is this link http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/fp_distribution3.html - perhaps any of these downloads work?
If not, the only think left for you is to download it on a different computer, then put it on a portable media and run it on your current computer.

In the hosts file .... .... /etc there are files but I don't know what I would open them with ....files are hosts, lmhosts, networks, protocol and services.
Thanks for racking your brain on this one. If I download it on another computer would all the systems have to be the same as mine? That would be my last question.
Thanks.

You can open the hosts file with Notepad, or any other text editor.

OK is there anything special I'm looking for? Is it just in the HOSTS file because that only lists one item.
antivirus in this whole process was uninstalled, firewall was turned off. I've shifted and adjusted so much I can't pull up much else except for pictures and text.

If the hosts file only has one line, then this is not the problem.
I have no more ideas; the only option left is to download the installer on an other computer, then transfer it to your current computer to install.

Actually when my programs were uninstalled, got a huge worm malware and had
to pretty much wipe the system clean and start from scratch. of course new
antivirus software and all it loaded like a dream.
i was using mcafee and had to go with something else completely.
